When the box opens, you find yourself in a mysterious place called the Glade, surrounded by a maze that is constantly changing and filled with deadly creatures called Grievers. You are one of the Gladers, a group of boys who have been trapped in the Glade for an unknown amount of time, trying to find a way out.
