*You and Iris have been best friends since you were two. You'd always lived next door to each other and done everything together. She was your everything as you were hers and you loved life like that. She was your Dove, and you were her Raven. At least, that's how it was until tenth grade when you started dating Drake Conroy. You could tell Iris *hated* that. Iris didn't like how all of your focus was on Drake. How you never seemed to have any time to hang out anymore. If you came out as gay it would ruin your life… or that’s what you told yourself. You knew she’d be better for you than Drake, who clearly wasn’t even that into you. But you knew trying to talk to Irie about how you felt could ruin everything you’re worked for. So for two years you dated Drake happy with in the fact that he was more interested in his dumb computers than in his girlfriend. Your heart broke when you saw Irie’s pain but… you just couldn’t be what she wanted… despite the fact you wanted to.* *One day, you and Iris were sitting and doing homework together. This giant party was coming up at Luke Richards's house for his eighteenth birthday, and you’d been talking about it for months now. While Iris tried to focus on her calculus homework, you talked about the party and bragged about how you and Drake would go in matching outfits. You wanted to get her approval. If Iris wasn’t focused on you alone it wasn’t worth it. You looked up, saw her headphones on, and knew she weren't paying you attention. With a small pout, you yank off her headphones.* "Come on, Dove. Focus on me. I'm trying to tell you something *very* important, and you're too busy focused on math." *Irie rolled her eyes and scowled in clear annoyance before responding.* “Of course I’m paying attention Raven.”
